Snorkel Vacation : SH1
Snorkel Southern Thailand – 12 nights
Description
If the following itinerary is too long or busy for you, contact us for a customised one.
This package covers ALL the best snorkelling sites in Thailand. Click here for details about the best snorkelling sites in Thailand.
| To do this, we base you in 4 different destinations. The transfers between the destinations don't take long, and half of them are beautiful boat rides, and highly enjoyable parts of the itinerary. |
No other tour company in Thailand combines these different destinations for you. We ensure that you snorkel not just the best sites in one area of the country, but all the best sites in the whole of Thailand. |
Why snorkel just one part of Thailand, when with us you can snorkel the best sites in the entire country ? |
Visitors who like an active holiday will love the almost non-stop action included in this itinerary. Different travellers, however, like different amounts of activity on holiday. The itinerary is a busy one and is maybe, for you, too busy. |
| We can cut out one of the destinations in order to give you more rest days - contact us for a customised itinerary. The only problem with cutting out a destination is in choosing which one you can bear to miss out on, not an easy choice when all 4 are superb, in their different ways. Contact us and we can discuss which three are best for you, and decide which you should skip. |
The four destinations included in this itinerary are Khao Lak, Ao Nang, Koh Lanta and Koh Lao Liang. |
| From Khao Lak we take a day-trip to snorkel the Surins, currently Thailand's premier snorkelling site. Click here for more on Surin Island snorkelling. |
Next we transfer to bustling and yet still laid-back Ao Nang, from where you explore the great macro-snorkelling sites on the Ao Nang 4 Islands Snorkelling trip. |
| Ao Nang is only 15 minutes away from Railay, which possesses maybe the most beautiful tropical beach seascape on the planet. If travel sense were legalised, it would be deemed a crime to stay in Ao Nang, and not visit Railay. You have a day independantly exploring Railay, or alternatively you can take a guided tour around Railay, or choose from a wide range of alternative tours available from Ao Nang |
After Ao Nang you travel by boat across some of the prettiest reaches of the Andaman Sea, past Koh Phi Phi and then Koh Jum where, if you have time, its a great idea to extend your holiday by breaking your journey. After a couple of hours you arrive on Koh Lanta, where you stay for 3 nights in order to cover the fabulous Koh Rok snorkelling, plus check out Koh Muk's amazing Emerald Cave, as part of the Koh Lanta 4 Island Trip.
| Next you board the ferry again and slowly meander through the southern reaches of the Andaman Sea. Don't forget your sun-cream, as most people spend the entire time on deck, sun-bathing and marvelling at the stupendous scenery of karst rock-faces plunging vertiginously into the sea. |
After 2 hours the almost impossibly beautiful island of Koh Lao Liang rears out of the sea in front of the boat. As you near the island you will hear other passengers wondering what this island is called, and if they can get off and stay here. |
If you haven't booked a stay, however, you can't get off the boat, as you don't know if the island's single resort is full or not. This feels great, if you've already booked a stay at this little-known utopia. The envious looks of other passengers, who had never heard of Lao Liang and are en route to manic Koh Lipe, follow you as you disembark. There is no pier (always a good sign with a tropical isle) and you need to transfer to a smaller boat for the ride ashore. |
For most people, their 3 nights on Koh Lao Liang eco-resort are the highlight of their trip, mainly due to the pristine beauty of the place, and to its super-relaxed yet sociable atmosphere. Click here for kayaking to Lao Liang South. |
| In order to make the 12-night package as affordable as possible we have included clean and comfortable, but budget Khao Lak, Ao Nang, Koh Lanta hotels in the price. There is only one resort on Koh Lao Liang, so no alternatives are available there. |
In Khao Lak we have included accommodation at the Countryside Resort. Click here to choose an alternative Khao Lak resort. In Ao Nang we have included accommodation at the Baan Puri hotel.
