Extreme Body Piercing
It’s October 19th 2009, and Phuket’s Vegetarian Festival is in full swing. Drink lots of soya milk before you go to this festival, as this will hopefully keep your stomach settled. Your tummy will need all the help it can get, but not because of the food you’ll be eating. The vegetarian festival has morphed into something very different from its lentil-munching beginnings, and has now become a day-long extreme body-piercing event. And when I say extreme I mean extreme.
People wander around with all sorts of things sticking out of their cheeks - kitchen knives, light-bulbs, chairs, you name it. This year I even saw half a dozen guys marching along with AK47’s – sticking through their cheeks.
The festival is held every year in late October. Young children should not attend.
