Ao Nang Diving

Introduction

	Ao Nang's location puts it within range of all the mid-Andaman sites, and so into one of Thailand's best-placed dive destinations.
The Ao Nang's local islands are some of the easier dives in Thailand, and so a good place to start a dive holiday, or to learn to dive.
	The great dive sites at Koh Phi Phi are within easy reach.
We recommend that divers explore these sites while based in Ao Nang, rather than on Koh Phi Phi, which has become rather spoiled in recent years.
	Ao Nang is also within range of the unmissable trio of mid-Andaman dive sites: King Cruiser Wreck, Anemone Reef and Shark Point Marine Sanctuary.

Ao Nang Local Islands Diving

	The area features some of Thailand's most stunning landscapes.
Sheer limestone cliffs are crowned with elevated jungles and coconut palms clad the hillsides above glorious beaches.
	Directly off Ao Nang beach there are two islands, Koh Podah Nai and Koh Podah Nok, and a handful of limestone outcrops.
The area's local diving concentrates around these, where divers can enjoy an abundance of radiant soft corals and a tremendous diversity of marine life. There are gently sloping reefs, caves and exciting swim-throughs.

Koh Phi Phi Diving

	Click here for info on Koh Phi Phi. We don't recommend Phi Phi as a destination any more, and recommend that divers visit the Phi Phi dive sites while staying at Ao Nang instead.
Koh Phi Phi offers a splendid variety of different types of diving on its local reefs, with abundant hard and soft corals and rich diversity of marine life – suitable for all levels of divers.
	Plenty of coral gardens crown the fringing reefs, which are alive with colourful fish.

Mid-Andaman Sea Diving

	Anemone Reef, the King Cruiser Wreck and Shark Point Marine Sanctuary are perrenial dive favourites, and should not be missed.
Easier and fairly shallow sites, they are a good bet to visit earlier on in your holiday, before venturing deeper later on.
