Stop press May 2010. This resort will be closed for renovation untill May 2011
As at July 2009 this resort is closed while gangs of workmen carry out a full and overdue refurbishment, which will be completed in October 2009. The lobby has been gutted and workmen are removing plaque from the swimming pool tiles – by hand, each of them wielding a small hammer and chipping away at the tiles one by one. After the work is finished the Twin Lotus looks set to regain its slot as one of the island’s best resorts, a position it had previously lost, as it had become somewhat grotty.
The resort benefits from a lengthy stretch of beach frontage, so making its beachfront bungalows some of the best on the island, though not at all private ones, as the bungalows’ terraces are adjacent to the pathways which run down to the beach from the bungalows behind them. This may not suit some couples, but makes them ideal for families, as children can run about while their parents keep half an eye on them from their terrace.
Accommodation
Whilst not the most up-market accommodation on Koh Lanta in terms of décor and equipment, the bungalows here are good value for money considering their prime beachfront positions, and are recommended as a great mid-range choice for families. Both one- and two-bedroom bungalows are available, to suit families of almost any size.
