This atrractive mid-range resort offers some worthwhile accommodation in pleasant settings.
The rooms are nothing exceptional, but contain nothing to complain about either.
The layout follows the classicv Thai pattern, with a central garden and pool area next to the beach, flanked by a row of bungalows on each side, and backed by a building full of hotel rooms.
The Casuarina is a good example of the genre, with an attractive pool, lots of flowers and shrubs, and a small area set to lawn. While the resort shows signs of wear, it offers reasonable value for money, particularly in the best of the Villa units.
Accommodation
Seaview
The price charged is fair for the facilities provided, particualarly as this resort is on the prime Phra Ae Beach, more commonly know as Long Beach. These rooms have terraces which have comfy and classy wooden loungers, which raise the tone a bit.
The units are built on two floors, the ground floor and the first floor. Request an upstairs unit for a better view.
Standard
These are the same as the Sea-view ... without the sea-view. These rooms are located in two places (a) 2 rows, one on top of another, are located above reception and face east (b) 1 row, above reception, faces south.
The best Standard rooms in the resort are in the row facing south, as they get more light and air than those facing east.
Superior Room

Villa
These immaculate semi-detached units are clean, and inoffesively and if somewhat blandly decorated. From all of these units there is a pleasant view from the classy wooden loungers on the large terrace.
The view is of the attractive garden and pool, and the sea beyond. These units are located in two lines of units, both od which run from east to west, one of which runs along the northern boundary of the resort, and one row along the southern boundary.
The best unit in each of the rows is the one nearest the sea. The two villas at the beach end of the southern row of bungalows get a great sunset sea-view, and are reccommended.
The units furthest away from the beach get a postage stamp-sized sea-view, so are nowhere near as good as the three best ones, as described above. Contact us to see if one of the best ones is available, we know ehich rooms numbers are the best ones, as we know this and all the other resorts on Lanta so intimately.
Beachfront Villa
These units are the same as the Villa units, but directly face the sea. If you can get one of the three best Villa units, there's no point in spending extra and getting a Beachfront Villa, so these units are not recommended, unless the best 3 Villa units are full.
