Phuket (2 hour drive or 20 minute Medevac) is an enclave of Western culture in Thailand and has hospitals on a par with the best hospitals in the world. Krabi is only 30 minutes away from Ao Nang by speed boat and has a fully operational hospital with numerous specialists as well as being fully staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year - but is not recommended for anyone who can reach Phuket.
