Fish Ao Nang / Railay

Introduction

The offshore fishing around Ao Nang has deteriorated to the extent where we can no longer recommend it. If you want to go fishing while staying in Ao Nang you have two quality choices:

• Go inland fishing at Gillham's Fishing Park

• Book a taxi from Ao Nang to Phuket, then charter a big game fishing boat for 8 hours fishing, then return To Ao Nang by taxi. The total cost for this is a minimum of THB 20,000. Ao Nang Family Fishing

Stop press December 2011, this trip is no longer recommended, as too many customers have been returning empty-handed. This seaborne safari into the fabulous scenery of Phang Nga bay can include snorkelling and is a great day out for all the family. While it's by no means certain you will catch any big fish, it's very likely you will have a fab time. Click here for more.

Sunset Fishing

While big fish like sailfish are uncommon, king mackrell and various species of trevally are not. A major part of the appeal of this trip is watching the sunset from aboard a boat in Phang Nga bay. Gilham's Fishing Park

Gilham's has the biggest fighting fish in Thailand, in a beautiful park 20 minutes north of Ao Nang. If you are a strong angler and fancy a challenge, this is the place to come. This daytrip is only available from Ao Nang, it is not available from Railay. Click here for more.
