Close resembles C. melampygus, but lacks blue on the fins, has a large naked area on the breast, slightly more elongate and has often has a bronze to greenish cast with scattered black specks. Inhabit lagoon and seaward reefs, occasionally entering rivers. Juveniles found in estuaries. Swims high over bottom. Feed primarily on fishes. Excellent food fish, yummy yummy. |
