Generally blue-gray or mauve to overall reddish; fins yellowish to reddish except pelvic and anal fins which are sometimes whitish; margin of maxilla black. Inhabits reefs and rocky bottom areas to depths of at least 100 m. Pelagic and benthopelagic. |
