The Mercure is a large resort located in eight buildings, two of which are the lobby and restaurant buildings. There are 213 rooms in this resort, which has two bars and multiple swimming pools. All buildings have elevator access. This resort is great for families, as it offers a Kids Club, Kids Playground and a Kids Pool. As of October 2011, all rooms are immaculate and spotless. This is a brand new resort, so the rooms are practically untouched. All rooms are equipped with flat screen televisions, swivel lamps. The Superior is the only room type that doesn’t come with a DVD player. While the resort is great for families and for large groups, it is not particularly highly recommended for couples, for whom more romantic options exist at other resorts in Ao Nang – contact us for advice.
Accommodation
Superior
The Superior rooms are good value for money and are well equipped. The top floor rooms give you a spectacular view of the mountains or the pool.
Deluxe
The Deluxe room is very much similar to the Superior rooms, except, guests have a bathtub as opposed to a shower room, a DVD player and a decorative mosquito hanging over the bed. The difference in price between a Superior and a Deluxe is not large, so for people who like a bath and/or a DVD player, the Deluxe is the one to go for.
Pool Access
The Pool Access rooms are similar to the Deluxe rooms, except they are on the ground floor. For people who like a pool access room, these are a good choice as they are reasonably priced compared to the pool access rooms at other resorts in Ao Nang.
Family
The Family rooms can be connected to either a Superior or a Deluxe room, and are an ideal family choice. There is even a play area for tiny tots in these rooms combinations, which can accommodate two adults and three children very comfortably.
Deluxe Suite
These rooms connect to a Superior room. Even without the connection, these rooms offer two flat screen televisions, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. They also offer one DVD player, a kitchenette and a large wardrobe which is in a room of its own. The living room area is rather drab. The kitchenette and huge wardrobe have limited appeal to most travelers, so this room type is not recommended. We recommend families go for a Family room connected to a Deluxe or Superior.
