Ulmar's Nature Lodge is currently, as at Oct 2011, the best budget resort on Koh Yao Noi. It is also one of the best value budget bungalow operations on the whole Andaman coast, so if it's a comfortable budget bungalow you're looking for, this place deserves serious consideration. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean, as are the mosquito nets and sheets.
For the standard fan rooms, the ventilation gap at the top of the wall means that the rooms stay cool.
Each room is equipped with a dimmer switch controllable from the bed, so the guest can have a bed-time read in comfort.
The resort has a new yoga centre attached.
Classes in the sala (pictured to the right) are inexpensive and well led.
The mosquito nets are beautifully patterned and look great from the inside.
The resort's beach is not a swimming beach, but it's a great one for watching the sunrise. Ulmar's is run by the very friendly, helpful and accommodating Ning, and is highly recommended.

The Standard Fan units are great value for money, but rather cramped. If you can afford to go for one of the much bigger Air-con or Superior Fan units, the extra expenditure is worthwhile
The Air-con units are the same as the Superior Fan, the only difference is whether the air-con is enabled or disabled.
They are large, very clean and comfortable - note the comfy lounger in the image on the left - maybe click for a close look.
Offering excellent value for money, these bungalows are highly recommended.
