Stop Press - the elephant trekking outfit in Ao Nang has recently been receiving bad reports, regarding both cruelty to the animals and extreme rudeness to visitors. We are suspending bookings to this operator - if you want to go elephant trekking, you'll need to go elsewhere.

Phanom Bencha (1 hour from Ao Nang) or Khao Sok or Koh Lanta are currently the best places to elephant trek in southern Thailand.
