Fish Ao Nang / Railay
Introduction
The only true big game fishing in Thailand is off Phuket. It is possible to charter a speedboat from Ao Nang to Phuket, board a big game fishing boat for 8 hours fishing, then return To Ao Nang by speedboat in the late afternoon. The total cost for this is about THB 80,000 for up to 10 anglers, contact us for more details and/or click here for more on Phuket big game fishing.
While you won't catch any marlins near Ao Nang & Railay, however, there is good sailfish action for the lucky, and giant trevally, mackrell and kingfish battles are a common ocurrence. Ao Nang is home to Thailand's best inland fishing park, Gilham's (see below for more). We offer the following three fishing trips from Ao Nang / Railay.
Stop press, July 2011, the fishing from Ao Nang can no longer be recommended, due to too many anglers returning empty-handed.
Ao Nang Family Fishing
 |
This seaborne safari into the fabulous scenery of Phang Nga bay can include snorkelling and is a great day out for all the family. While it's by no means certain you will catch any big fish, it's very likely you will have a fab time. Click here for more. |
Sunset Fishing
 |
While big fish like sailfish are uncommon, king mackrell and various species of trevally are not. A major part of the appeal of this trip is watching the sunset from aboard a boat in Phang Nga bay. Click here for more. |
Gilham's Fishing Park
 |
Gilham's has the biggest fighting fish in Thailand, in a beautiful park 20 minutes north of Ao Nang. If you are a strong angler and fancy a challenge, this is the place to come. This daytrip is only available from Ao Nang, it is not available from Railay. Click here for more. |
